This Summer holidays, there's no need for boredom. Become a silat Warrior by learning to master the combat art of the Malays. Be ready for the new year with your silat skills. Have you thought of being attacked or mugged and not knowing how to respond? Or being bullied over and over again because you are just too nice to stand up for yourself? Silat training will help you gain confidence by learning to "hold the earth" beneath your feet, and giving you the skills and ability to defend yourself in the event of any physical confrontation.

Silat training is not only for the scared and weak. If you already have self defense or martial arts skills, you could learn a new system or style. Our Summer Silat Compact course is designed to give you the skills learnt in the first level of the Silat Pukulan Melaka style. Pencak Silat is a malay martial art from South East Asia (Nusantara). Pencak could mean the movements used in the training method and Silat is the application of those movements or the actual fight. The terms Seni Silat or Pencak Silat is used interchangeably.

In this course you will learn:
  • Silat footwork
  • Silat exercises
  • Strikes / punches
  • Kicks
  • Blocks and defending
  • Partner drills
  • Target practice
  • Self defense against common street attacks, grabs, holds, etc
  • The 5 pledges of a Pesilat (Ikrar Pesilat)

...and have lots of fun while learning and meeting new friends.
